Toyota has announced that it is recalling approximately 115,000 Lexus convertibles and sedans in the U.S. because there's a risk that a fuel leak could lead to a fire.

In August, the automaker will notify owners of IS and GS cars equipped with six-cylinder engines that their vehicle has been recalled.

The problem is in the fuel-injection system, where a seal may harden and crack over time, allowing gasoline to leak. Toyota explains that such a leak near an ignition source creates a fire risk.
The Details

Vehicles recalled: 2006-2013 IS 350, 2010-2014 IS 350C, and 2007-2011 GS 350 and GS 450h.

The problem: Potential fuel leak creates a fire risk.

The fix: Lexus dealers will replace the fuel delivery pipe with an improved one at no cost to customers.

How to contact the manufacturer: Owners can check their vehicle’s status by going to toyota.com/recall and entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). And they can reach the Lexus Guest Experience Center at 800-255-3987.

Check to see whether your vehicle has an open recall: Plug in the 17-digit VIN at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website. It will tell you whether your vehicle has any open recalls that need to be addressed.
